POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced Proposal Lead to lead and mentor a small team of Jr./Mid-level writers.
Candidate will support and collaborate closely with Business Area staff, Subject Matter Experts, Team Members and Corporate Leadership to develop and write compelling technical proposal responses for government and commercial contract opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and write original proposal content in response to various US government contract opportunities
- Participate in proposal development color teams and daily stand-up meetings during proposal development
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 4+ years of direct, relevant experience drafting technical material for US federal government contract opportunities within the last 2 years
- Must be experienced with Business Proposal Writing
- Must be proficient in quickly reviewing and analyzing government solicitations and related documents to pull out pertinent information
- Must have a very strong/expert proficiency using MS Office products, primarily Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must possess excellent English oral and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree

Modern Tribe is looking for a seasoned digital strategist with strong Product Management experience to join our growing team.
The Strategist works with our customers to help focus business objectives, and translate them into executable plans for our design and development teams. That requires a broad understanding of technology, how it can be used to accomplish objectives, and how that technology will intersect with individuals inside and outside of an organization. The strategist and the PM are our primary intersections with our clients – you are the face of our projects.
The strategist answers the question “What?” and helps the design and development teams answer the question “How?” They work with the Project Manager to answer the questions “When?” and “How Much?” You will be leading projects between 50k – 1M+ for world renown brands and our live well and do good work culture.
In projects where we are leading product development, the strategist is as much a business consultant as anything else. We provide expertise and guidance on workflows and structure, and how technology is used. We guide innovation, ensuring that product market fit is correct, and ensuring that new products exist at the intersection of business objectives and user goals.
We shepard products from just a glimmer to successful releases. This requires an understanding of the product development cycle, how to release and when to release, how to target an MVP and guide a product roadmap successfully.
Note that scoping + strategy experience are a must-have for this role; Modern Tribe is not interested non-technical candidates at this time.

Responsibilities
For our web projects, the strategist does much of the above coupled with work typically described as Content Strategy, or Design Thinking. The strategist leads user profile development, user flows, information architecture, and overall content strategy and messaging. The strategist executes detailed content models, taxonomy definition, and content relationships. They work with design team to ensure that the user experience accomplishes the project objectives. They work with the development team to ensure that features are built and structured for the maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
On top of all that, they are forced to work within constraints. The strategists work must always be cognizant of the timeline and budget requirements. This often requires the ability to think creatively and find interesting solutions to problems.
Specific tasks this will include:
- Client Leadership
- Project Roadmap, Sprint Planning, Backlog Management
- Product & Feature definition
- IA, Content Modeling, & Data Taxonomy Definition
- User Profile Development & User Flow Documentation
- Review and sign off on tasks, features & outcomes

Compensation
The strategist role at Modern Tribe is a contract role. Pay range is between $50-$65 US per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience. We are currently looking for freelance contractors about 10 hours a week for this gig.

General Summary:
The Technical Writer will work independently and as part of a team to author a set of airplane technical manuals (AFM, AMM, CMM, IPC, WDM, SRM) from engineering, manufacturing, flight, and supplier data. The writer shall be able to research within Engineering drawing structure to find all necessary supporting documents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research technical information to develop technical documents.
- Ability to develop airplane illustrated parts catalog from engineering drawings, blueprints, manufacturing, flight, bills of material, and supplier data; using the industry system of indenture.
- Work independently and as part of a team to help revise a set of airplane technical manuals (AFM, AMM, CMM, WDM, SRM) from engineering, manufacturing, flight, and supplier data.
- Ability to create line art to illustrate aircraft parts and assemblies for use in aircraft technical manuals, parts catalogs and other related publications.
- Able to develop isometric technical illustrations from scratch using basic technical illustration principles.
- Experienced in interpreting blueprints, detailed engineering specifications, and schematics (electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic).
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and be an excellent communicator, verbally and through graphic visualizations.
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
- Aviation technical writing experience required.
- Knowledge of technical publication’s regulatory requirements and Industry Writing Specifications (ATA, GAMA, DITA and S1000D).
- Experience authoring documentation in structured Adobe Framemaker (SGML, XML) and Cortona3D/Xmetal RapidAuthor (ATA task numbering; typical DTDs/schema, elements and attributes) or other .xml authoring software.
- Experience with MS Office suite.
- Experience using CAD/CATIA/3D illustrations.
- Experience with Teamcenter PLM system.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of aircraft systems and technical documentation, including illustrated parts catalogs, airplane maintenance manuals, operator manuals, and installation instructions
- Past aviation maintenance or assembly work
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and personal organization
- A fundamental understanding of FARs as they apply to aircraft operations, maintenance and design certification.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Self-starter and able to make sound writing decisions with minimum assistance from supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Incumbents may be routinely asked to look at airplane areas using ladders and lift equipment. Also may have to view airplane areas in cramped, enclosed environment.
- Incumbents may be required to sit and work at a desktop computer for long stretches of time.
- Incumbents will work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
- Incumbents will read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
