CyberData is looking to hire a junior to mid-level Technical Writer or Documentation Specialist to serve on a dynamic team as the final review point for all technical documentation, artifacts, and deliverables. The candidate must be proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work under stressful and demanding deadlines, ability to take direction from multiple support staff, and the ability to visually represent concepts and ideas for senior leadership.

Job duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assist Lead(s) in the development of new briefings based on requirements and direction. 
• Responsible for coordinating, validating, and updating existing documents, to include version control, document repository maintenance, and standards compliance.
• Documentation deliverables shall include Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), various reports and findings documents, workflow models and process documents, illustrative logical and physical network design documents; and business-related diagrams. 
• Directly assist the team with any/all requirements, to include the following:
• Documentation creation and updates
• Attend required meetings and take meeting minutes
• Produce meeting agendas, minutes, and executive summaries as applicable

Required Skills (include but not limited to):

• At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and maintaining a high degree of proficiency with said application suite;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work under stressful and demanding deadlines and the ability to visually represent concepts and ideas for senior leadership;
• At least 2 years of experience in developing and completing typical work product deliverables, including whitepapers, position papers, analysis papers, presentations, etc. in a DoD environment;
• Function productively in a collaborative team environment; work and be capable of completing assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision when required.

Desired Skills:

• 2+ years of experience with DoD terminology and Army organizational structure;
• 2+ years of proven professional ability to interact with internal and external customers;
• Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality where required.
• Ability to develop and maintain documentation based on existing templates – or develop new templates based on requirements and direction using the Microsoft SharePoint platform.

Location : Sunnyvale, CA
Duration : Long Term Contract

Responsibility:

• Writes, edits, and authenticates AOS datasheets, applications notes and technical articles in a clear and concise style ensuring accuracy and consistency
• When creating, editing and enhancing the documentation, adhere to format, content and AOS style guidelines
• Create or edit product graphs, waveforms and drawings using Visio and/or Illustrator
• Manage files and revision history in technical publications library

Job Knowledge/Experience & Qualifications:   

• Bachelors Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Communications or related field, plus 2-5 years experience as technical writer, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to communicate, interview, and work quickly and effectively in a quality oriented team environment; self-motivated, high energy; ability to work under demanding deadlines; excellent priority/judgment skills
• Outstanding attention to detail, especially regarding formatting, grammar, and excellent organizational skills
• Advanced computer skills are required. The successful candidate will be computer literate in a corporate Windows environment using Microsoft Office and related products
• Experience with Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator, Acrobat and Visio preferred
• Proficiency with desktop publishing highly recommended

Job Description:

-Client is seeking a Transmission Technical Writer

Responsibilities:

-Responsible for providing Transmission Strategy and Business Development organization with the highest quality documentation of processes and systems.

-Assists in the editing of documents (such as Capital Planning Proposals) for spelling, grammar, and content accuracy and readability.

-Has fundamental understanding of various software technologies and functionality of application systems.

-Assists in the layout and organization of manuals and other documents.

-Supports Transmission Planning groups in preparing and editing Project Review & Approval (PRA) documents.

-Assists in the editing of documents (such as Capital Planning Proposals) for spelling, grammar, content accuracy, readability, and consistency.

-Assists or independently prepares and updates documentation plans. Prepares outline of content and written text. Coordinates layout and organization of manuals and other documents.

-Ability to organize moderate to complex technical topics from various sources into one cohesive document.

-Researches, develops, reviews and coordinates new procedures and changes to existing procedures.

-Coordinates with other departments & organizations during procedure development and revision process.

-Establishes procedure revision guidelines, procedure standards, and procedure writing guidelines.

-Demonstrates professionalism and ethical behavior in all work habits. Maintains a positive attitude.

-Promotes adherence to corporate standards, policies, enabling characteristics and ethics.

-Performs all duties, and works with others in a safe manner, in compliance with company safety policies and rules.

-Performs emerging duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor”s Degree in Journalism, or a four year technology degree with emphasis in technical communication, or related field experience.

-3-4 years related experience.

-Experience in the Electric Utility industry is highly preferred.

-Excellent technical communication skills which include writing and editing are a must.

-Proficient in help authoring tools such as Adobe RoboHelp or MadCap Flare.

-Knowledge of topic based documentation.
