The Sr. Proposal Writer role will require a great deal of close coordination with senior management, large writing tasks, and the flexibility to meet and develop our consistent high quality and successful responses.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Gathers raw proposal materials from service delivery team members, transforming and consolidating team member input into clear and effective responses.
- Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, standards of performance, and evaluation; collaborates with Management Team to clearly articulate a winning strategy, compelling solutions, and substantiated themes.
- Researches, analyzes, creates, documents, and shares proposal boilerplate, including proof points; past proposals for lessons learned, reuse; and past performance data. Establish the electronic file structure, archive and back-up capability for all proposal materials.
- Supports the development of all necessary proposal documentation (e.g., compliance matrices, proposal outlines, writing assignments, responsibility matrices, proposal related customer questions, etc. to win assigned bid)
- Writes, reviews, enhances, and tailors proposal and other corporate content including technical/management proposal sections, resumes, past performance citations, RFI responses, white papers, and other corporate deliverables as required.
- Active role in ensuring all submissions are accurate, complete, and compliant with RFP requirements and editorial specifications, as well as corporate quality and branding standards. Final eyes on all formatting and content.
- Ensures the response clearly conveys the proper key messages, value propositions, and differentiators; serves as the quality assurance function for final products, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and implementing changes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 10+ years of experience in a proposal development environment, including technical writing, editing, proofreading and productions support.
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Major in Communications or English is a plus.
- Proficient in writing proposals and responses to Federal Task Orders, RFPs, RFQs, RFIs and Sources Sought.
- Experience writing to address needs of DOT, FAA, NASA is a plus.
- Knowledgeable of information technology trends, support, services, and certifications.
- Able to integrate knowledge from internet research, SMEs, and relevant company past performance.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to verbally convey technical concepts in clear, concise and understandable terms is also required.
- Solid research skills and the ability to quickly grasp technical concepts, practices and specialized vocabulary of various technical fields.
- Strong experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience doing web research, and proficiency with graphics software such as Visio, Photoshop and Freehand a plus.
- Ability to work well under tight deadlines and effectively interact with a wide range of personnel, from executive to administrative staff.
- Must have working knowledge of the government procurement process including RFIs, RFPs, SBIRs, etc.
