Executive Editor & Publication Manager – The Papers Inc – Fort Wayne, IN
Be the face and voice of Glo & Home Living Magazines.
The right applicant should possess strong writing and editing skills; have the ability to manage a large team of writers; manage and run photo shoots; content and topic creation and oversee entire magazines for accuracy, tone, voice and culture as well as writing monthly content. Must possess strong sales aptitude and ability, be able to lead and manage sales team in collaborative and energized manner, and have a strong understanding of effective sales strategy. Must be a public steward, consistently representing the Glo and Home Living voice and culture. It is imperative to be involved within the Fort Wayne community, its many not-for-profit partners as well as Glo and Home Living advertisers, be a friendly, responsive voice to the readership at all times and participate in monthly on-air radio interviews regarding the two publications. Management of the annual “Glo Bash” event for the public is in its entirety is crucial as well as management of social media platforms.
Sales Requirements
- Must have experience in sales and sales management
- Manage sales team
- Hold and Run weekly sales meetings with team
- Hold monthly corporate meetings with sales and editorial, to present to publisher
- Create weekly sales report
- Ability to strategize selling tactics, incentives, programs – and implement to fruition
- Must be a problem solver with strong reasoning skills
- Be able to direct design and content of selling tools – collaterals, etc.
- Write all content for sales collaterals and programs
- Must be able to sell to own set of clients; advertiser maintenance and customer service-oriented
- Track revenue and maintain revenue spreadsheet
- Must ensure all sales programs are implemented with accuracy and fulfillment is realized (including programs involving FB posts, etc.)
Editorial Requirements
- Must understand editorial vs advertorial concept
- Have 5+ years of experience in editorial management
- Ability to direct team of freelance writers
- Must determine all magazine content topics for each issue
- Protect and maintain editorial integrity as well as voice and reader expectations; must differentiate between self-serving quires and those appropriate to readership, serving the public, not individual entities.
