A little about us: we offer unique bikes, boats, and other recreational rentals at over 100 locations nationwide. We also offer Segway Tours in select markets. Our company has shown substantial growth over the past 5 years, and we”re pressing on to sustain and continue that growth. Our Marketing Department is in need of someone who has strong writing skills and knowledge of online marketing aspects. We are looking for a team player that takes direction well, learns quickly, and enjoys both creative writing and market research. An ideal candidate can write well, has experience writing press releases, web copy, and/or blogs, crafting email campaigns, and has strong proofreading /editing skills. They will work well with deadlines, be able to juggle many projects at once, and have excellent time management skills. They will possess a professional attitude, have a good eye for detail, and will strive to be a contributing member of our team.
This role reports to the Marketing Manager and works cross-functionally with people in various departments throughout the company.
What you’ll be accountable for:
- Writing press releases and managing email distribution to publishers
- Managing online listings (Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor, etc.)
- Updating WordPress websites with text and images
- Editing (resizing, cropping, renaming) website images as necessary
- Writing and assembling online newsletters and email blasts
- Pulling reports for and maintaining logs on various marketing activities
- Researching advertising opportunities (gather media kits, pricing, etc.)
- Business-to-business relationship calls
- Designing, writing copy, and producing marketing materials for web, and social media
- Coordinating and executing writing/website projects under deadline pressure
What we think you need to be successful:
- 1-2 years in a similar position OR 3-5 years of experience/ education in the Marketing field
- Prior experience writing for marketing materials
- SEO knowledge
- Ability to gracefully shift priorities and ability to handle changes quickly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Familiarity with MailChimp or similar email blast platform
- Social media marketing experience
- Familiarity with Google, Bing, Yelp, TripAdvisor online listings
- Strong problem-solving skills
