Wordfirm Inc. at times seeks skilled editors to work for us as independent contractors—although we don’t have a current pressing need. Also, on occasion we look for other publication professionals—such as writers, graphic designers, and indexers—to partner with us on publication projects.

These freelancers
all work from their home office through the Internet, so location is not a
factor. We expect all, though, to be professionals and top-notch
in their fields. Editors should have a college degree and at least five years of practical experience in editing, but the editors we choose typically have much higher qualifications.

Job Overview:

• All topics are provided and you get to some choice as to which you write.
• Editors let you know up front what needs to be included in an article, while still giving you lots of creative control.
• You must commit to writing at least one article per week. The sky’s the limit.
• No need to interview experts though some articles will require you to call stores or companies such as credit card companies.
• Articles are very research-focused so you must be able to do this easily and with an understanding of what is and what is not a credible source.
• We pay $80 per article. Some articles will be indicated as being worth less but the effort/pay will be commensurate to the $80 articles.
• Invoice us anytime, we pay every two weeks and also at the beginning of each month. We want to respect your invoicing schedule by letting you invoice whenever works best for your schedule. So you invoice whenever and the next date we issue payments, we pay the invoices have come in. We pay via your choice of direct deposit or check.
• You are considered an independent contractor.

Our application and interview process is lengthy. But we value long-term relationships so we believe it’s worth the effort for both parties.
