SSRS Report Writer
We have a 3 month renewable position for an SSRS Report Writer for a client of ours in Cary, NC. Chosen resource will need to come in and hit the ground running with a primary focus on SSRS (and possibly some PowerBI) reports. Visual Studio 2015 is used (SQL Server back end is 2014), no training or ramp up time on the technology will be provided and so the candidate is expected to be solid enough in their skill set to handle troubleshooting existing reports and developing new reports in a high stressed, fast-paced project environment. This is a high-visibility project and fast-paced in expectations for deliverables and so the candidate should expect to act as a floater across various priorities throughout the project release – this is not uncommon within a given day. During critical releases, there is potential for war rooms that may require additional time commitments.
**Must have at least 5yrs experience with building/dev side SSRS, SSAS, BI reporting acumen, technical documentation, SQL-writing skills and exposure/working knowledge of SSIS, ASP, and project methodologies.

Dakota is looking for a seniorwriter to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Acquisition Directorate (CG-9) Communication Support Services task order.
Job Functions
The senior writer is responsible for the following tasks:
Writing Support. The successful candidate will provide writing support that includes research, analysis, writing, editing, proofreading, design, layout, and related production work for assigned communication products.
Speeches, Briefings, and Talking Points. The senior writer will conduct research, prepare read-ahead materials, and help draft speeches, briefings, or talking points a minimum of five times per month. The seniorwriter will interact with USCG personnel, including executive and senior leadership, to ascertain the required elements of speeches/briefings. Speeches/briefings will capture the core elements of the USCG’s programsand the speaker’s intentions, and will be presented in plain language for each identified audience. The vast majority of information for speeches/briefings will be derived from the following source documents: project briefings, background book documents, congressional questions and answers, government reports (e.g., from the Office of Management and Budget and Government Accountability Office), talking points.
Media and Stakeholder Outreach Materials. The successful candidate willhelp write, edit, and proofread fact sheets, media advisories, acquisition updates, white papers, and other written materials for audiences to include the media and internal and external stakeholders. In addition, the senior writer will provide research for and help draft responses to information requests from the media and other stakeholders. At a minimum, these functions will be performed four times per month.
News and Feature Articles. The senior writer will write, edit, and proofread a minimum of six unique news or feature articles each month as described below for CG-9 or USCG publications or websites, including at least one article per month to support CG-9 input to the USCG blog (currently the Compass). All articles will be approved by the USCG prior to publication and may result in a byline or attribution to CG-9 personnel.
Newsletter. The senior writer will write, edit, proofread, and format a minimum of two unique, feature-length (typically between 500-1,000 words) articles (in addition to the six articles listed in News and Features) plus associated shorter-length contributions. The successful candidate is expected to use the existing template and format. Changes can be recommended by the seniorwriter or directed by the USCG. An approved monthly newsletter shall be approved no-later than the fifth calendar day of each month, unless the Communication Team lead waives the requirement in a particular month due to other operational necessities.
Editorial Calendar. The senior writer will develop and maintain a CG-9 editorial calendar by submitting monthly recommendations for article topics for CG-9 publications, the CG-9 website, CG-9 input to the USCG blog, and the monthly CG-9 internal newsletter. Monthly contractor submission will include key decision points and milestone dates to meet expected publication frequency for articles for news andfeature articles (SOW 3.6) and the newsletter (SOW 3.7), which will include, at a minimum, one new feature article per week on the CG-9 public website, one article per month for the USCG blog, two articles per month for the CG-9 internal newsletter, and one miscellaneous article each month based on acquisition program progress. CG-925 will provide an electronic calendar where editorial calendar inputs will be loaded by the contractor following USCG approval of each monthly submission.
Briefings. The successful candidate will edit, format, and brand briefs to internal and external audiences approximately three times each month. The senior writer is expected to use existing CG-9 briefing templates.
