RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce is looking to bring on an experienced Technical Writer for a contract to hire opportunity in Portland, Oregon (OR) for one of our largest and fastest growing clients.

Daily Duties:

• Initially, take great initiative to create a plan and figure out what needs to be documented; This will require partnering with different roles/group within this large organization (i.e.: security, operations system support)
• Will also initially need to proactively get to know the applications and systems to find the needed information
• Take ownership of this entire process, from planning to implementation and the actual writing of these documents

REQUIREMENTS:

• Posses an understanding of lifecycle of systems and software
• Technical background-architects, engineers, application admins (Linux/Windows)
• Experience developing, writing, and editing technical IT security documentation
• Possess an understanding of NIST FISMA guidelines – or have certification
• Experience with security scanning tools, Nessus
• Huge plus to have Security certification (CISSP, CBCP, CISA, etc.)
• Must be willing to sit on-site in downtown Portland, OR

Koniag Services Inc is seeking a Technical Writer to work with our Federal client in the San Antonio TX area.

This is a direct full time position supporting KSI and our government client.

This position will work with the various support teams to provide technical documentation in support of current and new processes government audit requirements and system procedure documents.

Essential Functions Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Provides life cycle documentation support for development sustainment and operations activities.
• Support technical experts with creation and review of program life cycle documentation
• Support creation and maintenance of RMF C&A documentation and related Plan of Action & Milestones POA&M’s.
• Documenting technical processes and procedures in support of FISCAM and other federal audit compliance.
• Organizes information and oversees writing assignments according to established styles guides while maintaining clarity conciseness style terminology and grammar.
• Reviews documentation and interfaces with appropriate personnel to make certain technical literature is current and accurate in all published hard copy and electronic media.
• Oversees the editing composition production and delivery in accordance with applicable specifications standards and other requirements. Establishes guidelines and standards for text and graphics.
• Plan design research write and edit a range of documents to include user guides and manuals technical specifications training materials support documentation and proposals.
• Develops training tools and documentation; oversees implementation of same.
• Ensure currency and accuracy of all documentation.
• Plan and control detail work for assigned tasks.
• Assist and support other areas of IT and the business with documentation needs.
• Establishes and complies with all applicable specifications standards and other project constraints.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a National Agency Check with Local Agency Checks and Credit Check
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
• Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in this role within a federal contracting environment encompassing all duties related to this position
• Proven experience in consistently meeting deadlines and quality standards
• Highly organized self-starter with stellar customer service skills.
• Experience working in matrix and complex organizations and an appreciation of how the dynamics of growth affect corporate culture.
• A goal-oriented driven individual with a superior ability to execute and sustain a high sense of urgency
• Well organized with good delegation skills
• Articulate and confident with a presence and stature that will help maintain and build the company brand and position in the marketplace
