SUMMARY:
The Information Systems Security Manager oversees the day-to-day management of cyber security operations related to patching priorities, vulnerability management, risk mitigation strategies, and security research. This position will identify and address exposures to accidental or intentional destruction, disclosure, modification, or interruption of information that may cause serious financial and/or information risks. This position will be responsible for the protection of the client’s assets and information which are processed by or stored in Client’s computerized information systems. This position performs and evaluates information risk and promotes cyber security awareness within the organization. This position manages the organization’s cyber security team, resources, and functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Business Relationship Management – Provides cyber security best standards and practices to the business technology of the organization. Work with all staff and Business Units to embrace and understand cyber security risks and the cyber security standards and practices employed to mitigate such risks.
Solutions Strategy – Align business technologies with information security standards and practices to ensure no new risk are introduced as operational and technology changes are introduced throughout the organization.
Solutions Development – Ownership of business technology project initiation requirements as it relates to cyber security. Participation within CAB/ECAB to implement new developments in a secure structured manner and ensure transitions to ongoing operations/support are in place. Facilitate tracking, reporting and approval of changes. Communication and coordination with affected parties as needed.
Solutions Delivery – Ensure only secured business technology services are delivered to the organization. Remedy business technology services that are found to be in violation of information security standards and practices. Ensure support issues and request are resolved within defined service levels. Monitor and report on tickets at risk of missing defined SLA for security. Ensure up to date documentation of all cyber security systems and processes. Encourage, support, and train staff to align cyber security practices with the needs of the organization. Ensure well written and concise communication is delivered to the organization quickly and efficiently.
Solutions Management – Maintain security standard and practices, and procedures for staff (both IS and Employee):
- Oversight and management of client’s security layers including:
- DLP for network traffic (email and web)
- DLP for end user devices
- UTM (spam, application, web, etc)
- IPS/IDS
- Endpoint Protection (AV, EDR, Zero-Day, APT)
- NAC and Rogue Device Detection
- SIEM (monitoring, logging, alerting, event correlation)
- DDoS
- MDM Security Policies
- VPN
- DNS
- SPF
- Oversight and management of Security Patching for all business technologies in all client locations to maintain a 99% critical security patch environment:
- Prioritization and definition of patches or mitigation techniques
- Coordination with Systems Engineers for Servers / Appliances
- Workstations (PC’s / MACs)
- Mobile Devices (Tablet / Smartphone / Laptop)
- Manage Security Incident Response, reporting and mitigation including written and actual response to Vulnerability and Penetration testing of business technologies on a quarterly basis
- Mitigation of all items found in quarterly Vulnerability and Penetration testing
- System and Application access controls and logging
- Participate in client security audits
- Review and audit security policies for conformity with regulations
- Partner with the client’s Enterprise Risk Management team and/or other business units as necessary to satisfy compliance needs
- Implementation of client’s technical security/compliance strategies
- Annual Penetration Testing
- Vendor Management –
- Ensure 3rdParty solutions meet defined security process, procedures, etc.
- Provide and manage remote access solution from 3rdParty Vendors
- Assist with risk rating of vendors
- Review existing and proposed innovation/application/3rdParty systems to ensure appropriate security measures are in place
- Ensure business technology recovery plans and business continuity operational plans adhere to information security standards and practices and do not present a weakness in the overall security posture when tested or executed.
- Invoicing and Account handling
- Evaluation and procurement of security tools and services to align with defined information security standards and practices
- Assistance in the selection, assessment and management of new technologies and/or relationships with 3rd Parties
- Serve as vendor contact for coordination and escalation of technical services.

Supplier Relationship Management – Develops and manages strategic partnerships and vendor relationships to drive successful delivery of business technology in line with the strategic technology plan. Review existing and proposed technologies, innovation, applications, and third party systems to ensure appropriate functionality and security measures are in place.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages resources to meet departmental goals and objectives. Hires, trains, inspires, and leads cyber security staff. Establishes and executes appropriate procedures, methodologies, and practices. Define, plan, execute and manage budget for cyber security technologies.
Required Skills
EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in technical field required.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent information security certifications.
- Knowledge and experience working with Linux/Unix environment is a plus.
- Expert understanding of Microsoft Windows server technologies (2012 and higher).
- Expert understanding working with virtualization technologies like VM Ware, Citrix, etc
- Experience with enterprise systems architectures and components like AD, DHCP, DNS, software deployment, etc.
- Expert understanding of network design, IP management techniques and encryption.
- Knowledge and experience working with Fortigate appliances is a strong advantage.
- Expert understanding of DLP technologies, VPN technologies, and next generation Firewall technologies.
- Knowledge of network design, IP management techniques, routing protocols (MPLS, BGP and OSPF) and encryption.
- Knowledge and experience with Shoretel VoIP phone systems and QoS.
- Experience with network management monitoring tools such as Nagios, Cacti, etc.
