Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in IT Systems Management, IT Operations, Systems Administration, Site Reliability Engineering, or equivalent area

- 2-5 years of experience in a software vendor environment in a technical customer-facing role, such as pre-sales engineer, product management, or product marketing,
- In-depth technical experience of log management, performance management, observability, operational intelligence, and analytics for IT operations

Role:
The Technology Advocate for the IT Markets Advocacy Program will support the global IT Markets Technology Advocacy program by providing deep expertise, engagement, and advice – both specific to Splunk and on broad industry topics – to Splunk customers, the IT community, and key influencers, including at in-person events and in digital and other content, to drive positive engagements with Splunk’s IT Operations and Application Delivery practice.
This position is part of the global IT Markets Technology Advocacy team, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Advocate for IT Markets, but will work closely with Splunk’s Field Marketing, Global Events, Field Sales, AR/PR, and other internal teams to deliver high-impact evangelism content – including at hosted, partner, and community events; in intimate invitation-only influencer events; at on-site customer sales meetings, seminars, and workshops; and in all manner of written, audio-visual, in-person, social media, and other content.
As Technology Advocate for the IT Markets group, you will be a key Splunk ambassador to the IT Operations and Application Delivery community – including its thought leaders and key industry influencers – helping to win their hearts and minds. You will drive high-impact engagement and excitement among IT Operations (incl. SysAdmin, CloudOps, WebOps, SRE, DevOps, etc,) & Application Delivery (incl. Developer, Engineer, Architect, etc.) professionals, managers, influencers, thought leaders, and purchasers around the world, to boost positive engagement with Splunk, and help drive adoption of Splunk solutions.
In this role you will leverage your deep understanding of, and ability to communicate, technology and market trends to drive excitement around using Splunk and other cool and exciting technologies in new and interesting ways. While this position will craft and evangelize plenty of ‘vendor-neutral’ content, you must also be able to speak intelligently, enthusiastically, and with excellent technical authority about Splunk’s technology & solutions.
