The Content Strategist at Energy Circle leads the company’s content team and is a strong content writer, strategic marketer and project manager. They play a crucial role in the Energy Circle platform website content development process, as well as ECMS monthly content deliverables on behalf of clients. They work closely with the web production and marketing teams as well as their own content writers.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a combination of technical writing and content strategy
  • Standout idea generator and problem solver with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to compellingly communicate a brand’s story, and a design sensibility to envision how content will be presented or distributed in formats other than text-based articles, such as infographics or multimedia presentations
  • Experience gathering key business and user insights, and creating a long-term vision for content generation

Requirements:

  • Act as EC’s internal SEO and information architecture expert
  • Provide innovative content strategy for local HVAC, home performance and solar businesses on a client by client and seasonal basis
  • Co-lead EC client intakes and generate content strategy/outlines/briefs
  • Align and delegate content development with applicable internal (or freelance) content writer pool
  • Adhere to and assist in managing the web project’s content scope (e.g., budget, timeline, resources, etc.)
  • Actively produce blog posts, landing pages, metadata, email copy, social media ad copy, internal marketing copy, whitepapers, infographic copy, video scripts, etc.
  • Lead the EC content team, consisting of internal writers and freelancers
  • Lead growth of EC content team business unit; strategically lead all innovation initiatives
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing Account Managers; enhance promotional content tactics as well as production efficiency
  • Manage review/editing process as required

An ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in transcription, or, alternatively, translation (we don’t do translation, but have found that translators are great at transcription).

We pay flat rates of $1 and $1.50 per minute of audio for 1-5-day turnaround and same-day/overnight turnaround, respectively. For an experienced, reasonably fast transcriber, this breaks down to $20-30/hour of labor.

This is a critical role on our team that requires a unique type of person. – Prior experience as a freelancer

Responsibilities include:
– Answering customer emails in Help Scout, helping customers get and use everything they purchased (no advice giving)
– Issuing refunds, no questions asked (no selling)
– Raising more difficult technical issues with our developers and other kinds of issues to other team members

HOURS
