This leadership position, within the Technical Communications Services Department, requires the ability to analyze, plan and make decisions to ensure that data is, concise and presents material logically.
Incumbent functions as a team leader, providing assignments, monitoring and reviewing the work of others and maintaining project schedules. Incumbent is expected to be fully knowledgeable of concepts, practices, policies and procedures of Integrated Logistic Support.
These responsibilities involve decisions on approach and have an impact on the organization’s reputation and costs. Performs functions to direct and participate in the coordination and management of Integrated Logistics Support data submittals in accordance with aviation industry Specification S2000M, Collects, categorizes and submits ILS technical source data to vendor supplier. Provides suppliers direction and instructions and review of data per end-customer requirements and monitors delivery schedules.
ILS Data submittals include Initial Provisioning, Sparing, and Maintenance support data submittals in accordance with the latest aviation industry and end customer specifications. Manages procurement of services, provides clear and concise Statements of Work and Requests for Quotation. Coordinates and provides liaison of data corrections and comments between Supplier and Customer. Work is performed independently, as member of a team or as a team leader on major projects.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility for project Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) functions, including but not limited to Initial Provisioning, Spares Data, Maintenance Support Data and required reporting, tracking, maintenance of all ILS data submittals.
- Fully cognizant of all ILS and Publications Industry Specifications related to Publications & ILS development, maintenance and revision functions.
- Assumes responsibility for overall ILS project assignments involving the development of materials for data submittals. Determines work requirements, makes job assignments, manages and reports on project scheduling and status, reviews the work of assigned suppler, ensures consistent project format and style and logical approach and maintains project work flow.
- Interprets designated customer specification requirements and prepares detailed guidelines describing the format and technical content of data submittals to be prepared. Defines customer requirements and prepares schedules and cost estimates in preparation for data set development and review related information provided by other departmental suppliers.
- Interprets and extracts technical information through the review and use of engineering source materials including listings, schematics, test procedures, engineering specifications, hardware and software products, customer specifications and other materials to become familiar with products and technology and validate data submittal packages.
- Uses original writing skills and electronic publishing and word processing equipment to prepare statement of work, instructions and training materials in compliance with ILS specifications and customer requirements. Submits data sets for customer review and coordinates resulting
- Comments and changes between supplier and end customer. Ensures that data set cover all required elements of assigned projects.
- Revises existing data module sets to incorporate changes and product updates and to ensure accurate representation of current product levels to end customers.
- Assists with ILS lesson plan development for training other department personnel. Provides information in support of annual departmental budget development.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- AA/AS Degree in Technical, Aeronautical Support discipline (BA/BS Preferred.)
- Data Management skills and ability to communicate direction & good editing skills (attention to detail).
- Requires knowledge of and qualified in Initial Provisioning Planning, Sparing, Pricing, and Component Data Logistics & Maintenance Task Analysis as it relates to the Aviation Industry.
- Requires knowledge of and skills related to Integrated Logistics Support, aeronautical logistics is a plus, with experience using the Aviation Industry ADS SPEC S2000M or ATA SPEC-2000.
- A thorough knowledge of technical writing, Parts Lists Catalogs, logistics support and related aviation specifications and requirements and business management principles, equivalent to a four year college level program.
- CMM, IPL – iSpec 2200 and ASD SPEC S1000D
- Requires five to seven years of work experience with Integrated Logistics data, including initial
- Provisioning, sparing, maintenance analysis and maintenance failure analysis in compliance with prescribed specifications, and including some overall project leadership responsibility.
- Expertise with commercial aviation industry electronic data submittal Specifications and guidelines.
