Freelance Writer at IAPWE

Location: New York – Remote

About the position:

The IAPWE is seeking a skilled and motivated freelance writer to join our team.

As a freelance writer, you will be tasked with creating relevant and engaging articles and blog posts.

This is a fully remote position and will involve working closely with our content management team with deadlines typically running on Eastern Daylight Time.

Responsibilities:

• Above all, this role will involve writing clear, engaging and relevant content in the form of blog posts and articles
• At times, you may be required to perform basic research and brainstorm ideas for topics with our content management team
• Content must be on-brand to create a consistent voice for readers
• You will be responsible for proofreading your own work to ensure that it remains free of errors and typos
• Be responsive in replying to emails in a timely manner and meeting agreed-upon deadlines for content when necessary
• For the most part, this role will involve a great deal of flexibility and you will be given full autonomy over when and how you complete your work for nearly all tasks

Requirements & Qualifications:

• This is an entry-level position, however, applicants with professional writing experience are preferred
• Be well-versed in using Microsoft Word
• Ability to follow and adhered to content guidelines and style guides when presented
• Self-starter who is capable of asking questions about assignments and communicating throughout the content creation process
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a collaborative environment with editors and other team members
• And most importantly, an expert command of the English language (both written and verbal) and a love of writing!

Preferred Qualifications:

• Although not required, applicants with formal training and/or degrees in arts & media will be prioritized
• 1+ years of experience creating content for B2B companies or organizations
• Experience in content marketing, online marketing and content management systems (CMS)

Compensation Details:

• This position will pay $70-120 per article depending on content length with a base rate of $20 per 100 words
